About Us
The Cork and Cooperage is a wine bar and wine distributor located on Ambergris Caye, Belize serving Ambergris Caye and Caye Caulker.
The Cork and Cooperage was created by Brad and Effie Stees. Both are Level 2 Sommeliers and Effie is also a French Wine Scholar and Texas Wine Specialist.
Our goal is to provide stellar wines from around the world, both boutique and ones you may recognize from home, while you are enjoying your time here.
Brad and Effie created Envy Wine Room in Spring, TX nine years ago and Prohibition Texas bar four years ago, Envy Wine Room features small boutique wines from around the world and currently has 200 wines, and offers 120 of those by the glass. 80 wines are replaced with new interesting
“finds” every year. Envy also has a full service restaurant and has been named as a top ten wine bar in Houston. They have done over 100 wine dinners with wine makers, over 200 wine education classes, and do quarterly themed all days tastings. We also host the the Wine and Spirits Educational Trust -London / Texas Wine School classes on site.
We wanted to bring Envy Wine Room with a twist and on a slightly smaller scale to Ambergris Caye so that we always have a place to enjoy good times, develop new friendships, with a great bottle of wine.
